This project is important for ECAS because despite the many opportunities offered by the digital transformation, the way of how citizens access and consume information is crucial for the correct functioning of European societies. ECAS believes that SMARTeD could be a first important step to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon of online disinformation by promoting transnational cooperation and fostering citizens’ capabilities in order to create an infrastructure for debate, discussion and civic engagement.
